Surface Commission | A House to Gather
Project team: Angus Gardner, Sibling Architecture
April 2024 - Dec 2024
Photographs: Christine Francis, Lauren Crockett
This commission involved developing a series of ceramic tiles for a house extension designed by Sibling Architecture. The brief was to create tiles that functioned as small paintings within a green splash back, linking the kitchen palette with other elements of the living room and garden.
The palette evolved through a three-month testing period with feedback from both the client and architect. Several iterations were produced before the final tiles were selected and installed.

Surface Commission | Darlinghurst Studio
Project team: Angus Gardner, Eleanor Peres
April 2021 - September 2022
Photographs: Ben Murphy
These tiles were created for a close friend and long-time supporter of my work. She envisioned subtle, meaningful details running throughout her studio apartment—features that would become part of the home’s fabric.
The design integrated with a structured tile layout chosen by the client.
The palette complemented the joinery and design features of the space, and the painted elements were inspired by drawings made during walks in my local park.
