I have been making candlesticks of various shapes and sizes over the past eight months. The simplicity, ambiance and evolving sculptural nature of these objects was what drew me in. A candlestick in a room with a tall drippy candle posesses a beautiful energy. It is simple in its function and needs little physical interaction to perform its task. It emits an ambiance and calming energy within a space that is difficult to achieve with an electric light source. It is a constantly evolving sculptural form that develops as wax drips and builds over time and the flame flutters and moves with its surroundings.

This series of candlesticks was designed, prototyped and produced in my Melbourne studio. The forms are handbuilt using specific weights of clay which allows for a degree of freedom in making and a uniqueness in form. The two glazes were developed specifically for this project.

The objects will be produced and released in numbered collections. Once all styles are sold a new collection will be made and subsequently available through the store. This allows you to mix, match and add over a period of time whilst also making each candlestick individual and considered.
